Conditions for Applying Case Law of some Countries in the World and Lessons for Vietnam (28/06/2024)
In court proceedings, case law functions as prompt resolution for disputes that arise in cases where there are no legal norms, a law is unable to fully anticipate certain situations or provisions of a law seem unclear. Thereby, it helps ensure consistent application of the law; sustain fairness and justice; and increase transparency and predictability in court decisions. The compliance with certain conditions is required to apply case law. The article explores these conditions abroad, thereby drawing lessons for Vietnam.

Trends in U.S. Economic Cooperation and Vietnam - U.S. Economic Relations under President Joe Biden (28/06/2024)
From the 1980s to the early years of the 21st century, the process of globalization, regionalization and international economic integration took place strongly under the leadership of the United States. A multitude of U.S. Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) were signed and took effect during this period. However, after President Donald Trump came to power (2009-2017), U.S. foreign economic cooperation policy had changed, especially towards China. Although the 46th U.S. President Joe Biden’s policy towards China has not significantly changed, its economic cooperation trend has been adjusted to a more flexible state. Vietnam with its geostrategic location in Southeast Asia would enjoy many opportunities for economic cooperation with the U.S. to promote its economic development and continue the process of integration in the coming period.

Gender Aspects in Observing and Interpreting Drought and Saltwater Intrusion among Agricultural Production Communities in Tra Vinh Province (28/06/2024)
Studies on natural disasters and climate change show that men and women are affected in different ways, and they also have different response capabilities based on their knowledge, resources and social position by each culture. Qualitative research results in Kinh and Khmer communities in Tra Vinh province, whose main livelihood is agricultural production, reveal that there are both similar and different understandings between men and women about extreme drought and saltwater intrusion in the area. The reason for the difference is mainly due to gender stereotypes in the division of family labor.

Concepts and Criteria for Social Enterprises: Research from the Legal Systems of Some Countries and Suggestions for Vietnam (28/06/2024)
Social enterprise is an organizational model that aims to solve social and environmental problems in a business manner, which has important significance in social development. While social enterprises abroad has a significant contribution to promoting the development and access to development opportunities of social groups. In Vietnam, despite certain progress, they have yet been supported in a systematical and comprehensive manner. There have been several different interpretations of the concept and criteria for determining social enterprises in Vietnam. Experiences of some Asian countries could be a useful reference for building and perfecting legal regulations and policies for social enterprise development in Vietnam.
