Forest Allocation to Ethnic Minorities for Local Management and Protection in the West of Central Coast (30/03/2021)

Forest allocation to ethnic minorities is a major policy of the Communist Party and the State of Vietnam, which has been widely deployed in the mountainous regions of the central coastal provinces. It reveals both positive and negative impacts. To effectively allocate forests years ahead, it is necessary to renew the forest allocation policy following the cultures and customs of the local ethnic groups, develop training and improve new knowledge of forestry for residents therein, inherit and promote the role of village elders and customary law, as well as reform the management in order to ensure publicity, transparency and the participation of local people.

Characteristics of Buddhist Rituals in Vietnam (30/03/2021)

Buddhist rituals in Vietnam, characterized by region and religious sects and more or less influenced by Chinese Buddhism over the centuries, have relatively different characteristics among regions, especially the Northern Delta, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City. Directly influenced by the teachings and laws of Buddhism, Buddhist rituals in Vietnam have also contributed a unique cultural identity to the world’s Buddhist community, which affirms the unity in diversity of Buddhism in Vietnam and the world. Based on specialized and interdisciplinary approaches, the article presents the key features of Buddhist rituals in Vietnam today.

Developing the Southern Economic Zone of Ho Chi Minh City (30/03/2021)

The paper analyzes the current situation of the southern area of Ho Chi Minh City in terms of criteria for developing an economic zone. Based on the criteria in the project “Determining eligible localities to develop special administrative - economic zone master plans in Vietnam” submitted by the Ministry of Planning and Investment for consultation in 2013 as the basis for the survey, the paper proposes several solutions to develop the southern economic zone of Ho Chi Minh City.
