Exercise the Right to Participate in State Management in the Spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (14/05/2021)

Enabling citizens’ engagement in state management is an important tool to achieve full citizenship and improve the performance of the state apparatus as well. The article provides an analysis of achievements and limitations in enabling citizens’ engagement in state management in Vietnam over the past time. On that basis, it also proposes some quality-driven solutions for this task in the coming time in an effort to promote the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Control of Civil Servants’ Power in Singapore and Lessons Learnt for Vietnam (14/05/2021)

The paper analyzes Singapore’s policies and measures used to control the power of public servants to curb corruption, thereby points out characteristics in comparison with those currently applied by Vietnam. On that basis, some lessons are suggested for Vietnam to improve the effectiveness of controlling its civil servants’ power in the coming time.

Vietnam’s Economy in 2020 and Its Prospects for 2021 (14/05/2021)

The article provides an assessment of the economic situation of Vietnam in 2020 reflected in economic developments due to the Covid-19 epidemic shock, which has reduced production and business activities of most sectors through a comparison with the two shocks including the 1997 Asian financial crisis and the 2008 global financial crisis. Against this background, it further offers some prospects for 2021 as well as policy suggestions to accelerate economic recovery on a stable and solid basis.

Intellectual Labour and Employment of Intellectual Labour in Vietnam (14/05/2021)

The intellectual labour account for a relatively large proportion in the State-owned economic sector, however, it tends to decrease gradually and instead, the intellectual labour working in the private economic sector tend to increase, especially in the Red River Delta and Southeast in Vietnam. Based on the Vietnam Labour Force Survey Data in 2016 and 2019 of the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, this paper analyses the situation of current intellectual labour and employment of intellectual labour in Vietnam and issues in develop this sector.

Europe in the United States’ New Foreign Policy (14/05/2021)

There have been significant changes in American policy under Joseph R. Biden compared to his predecessor. In the new foreign policy that was set as the focus of change, Biden advocates working with Europe to solve common problems such as reducing economic and trade barriers with Europe, responding to challenges from Russia and China, closer cooperation on security and defence, pursuing joint actions on climate change. Such close cooperation is expected by both sides to promote trans-Atlantic relations in the near future.
