Progressive Values in some Contemporary International Relations Rheories (20/04/2025)

Theories are of great significance partly because of the values they bring to practice. In international relations theories, the most prominent values that are increasingly present in national and international life are peace, respect for national sovereignty, democracy and concern for human beings. The article examines these values in some contemporary international relations theories to clarify the above statement.

The U.S. Perspective on Mekong Sub-regional Cooperation and Policy Implications for Vietnam (20/04/2025)

The Mekong sub-region, not only a resource-rich, dynamically developing but also an important geostrategic region, has received the attention of such great powers as China, Japan, South Korea, and the United States. Especially, it has emerged as an critical area of influence in the context of the fierce US-China competition. There have been many cooperation initiatives between major countries and the Mekong sub-region as well as among its members. Recently, the U.S. initial delay in establishing cooperation with the Mekong sub-region has shifted remarkably with certain achievements regarding sub regional development, security, and environment. Against this background, the possibility of cooperation between the Mekong sub-region and the U.S. shall bring several new opportunities that Vietnam needs to consider to take advantage of.

The Role of the State in Implementing Social Welfare Policies to Ensure Human Security in Vietnam Today (20/04/2025)

Human security plays a central role in the strategy of national defense and is also a key objective in the process of building a strong and developed nation. For many years, especially since the Doi moi (Reforms) in 1986, the Communist Party of Vietnam and State of Vietnam have focused on building and implementing social security policies to ensure human security, which is considered both a goal and an important driving force for political and social stability and sustainable development of the country.

Codes of Revolutionary Ethics for Cadres and Party Members in the New Period (20/04/2025)

In the context of the country entering a new era, the Communist Party of Vietnam identifies Party building and rectification as a key task, in which further supplementing and perfecting the codes of revolutionary ethics for cadres and Party members is, among others, the main task that defines several core issues for Party building work. As a matter of fact, the contingent of cadres and Party members plays a crucial role, being the nucleus force in the process of nation building and developing. Therefore, improving the ethical code in the new situation requires the Party and people to thoroughly grasp Ho Chi Minh’s moral thought and strive to cultivate the moral qualities initiated by him, which have profound significance in the current revolutionary period. Against this background, Regulation No. 144-QD/TW dated May 9, 2024 of the Politburo on “Codes of revolutionary ethics for cadres and Party members in the new period” was issued promptly to meet both theoretical and practical requirements.

The International Conflict Index, is used to measure the complexity of conflicts between nations and the associated factors, which helps monitor and assess the level of conflict as well as the potential for intervention and resolution. The crucial correlation between component indicators also matters. Understanding these correlations to build an index formula for conflict identification, is vital for forecasting the risk of future disputes and figuring out measures for conflict mitigation.
