Job Security for Workers in Industrial Parks in Vietnam in the Context of the Covid-19 Epidemic (31/08/2022)

Job security is an essential theoretical framework to ensure the fundamental rights of workers in organizations or businesses. Studying aspects of job security in industrial zones, especially in the context of Covid-19, should be paid more attention. Analysis of fieldwork data in some industrial parks in Vietnam in 2018-2019 as well as national survey results by Vietnam’s General Statistics Office in 2021 and 2022 show that despite the negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, workers’ job prospects remain positive. However, more solutions from governments and companies should be required to ensure all aspects of job security.

The Vietnam - Germany Strategic Partnership in the Economic Field: Facts and Prospects (31/08/2022)

In the last decade, Germany has been a key strategic partner of Vietnam, with a focus on economic cooperation. In the EU and ASEAN, the two countries are also each other’s top trading partners. The authors consider the economic cooperation relationship between the two sides in terms of trade turnover, investment, and development assistance since the establishment of the strategic partnership until now, then clarifying the potentials, opportunities, and prospects for promoting the two countries’ cooperative relationship in the future.

The welfare state covers a set of social programs designed to ensure economic security for all citizens to prevent or avoid inherent risks in life such as unemployment, poverty, disability and old age. The American welfare state was formed and developed according to the political, economic, and social changes of the country. While being considered a liberal model, the US welfare state has different structures and characteristics from that of the European countries. Its effectiveness also fails to meet expectations.

Clan Stelae and Some Aspects of Clan Culture in Vietnam (31/08/2022)

Family stelae has a valuable meaning for each Vietnamese clan. Before 1945, most of the clans owned this type of stelae, which was often erected on the occasion of big events such as the construction of clan ancestral house or the election of descendants in the presence of their members. Nowadays, a large number of these stelae still exist which accounts for a significant proportion of the stone stelae in Vietnam. The study of these stelae shall be greatly useful to understand clan conventions, genealogies or family members who achieved high results in academic exams. Based on documents and data about the stelae inscriptions available at the Institute of Sino-Nom Studies (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences), the article analyzes the characteristics of the Vietnamese clan culture through stelae inscriptions following the main themes including clan ancestral house, clan genealogy, clan descendants, clan conventions, and clan members who passed the academic exams.

Since 1986, social change has had significant impact on the artistic thinking of Vietnamese poets. During this period, a breakout has occured in both content and form, especially poetic language. Never before has the language become so rich and abundant, which also includes symbolic language, superrealist language, body language, sexual language apart from informal one. One may even see “intentionally fragmented language” which is created in seek of a sense of oddness.

On the Compilers of Dictionaries and Encyclopedias (31/08/2022)

Each dictionary and encyclopedia is formed from the compilation stage and ends at the state of the users’ usage. In this process, there are many activities requiring the compilers to handle them in a methodical, scientific, and standard way. The article aims to identify and clarify the nature of three types of the subjects compiling dictionaries and encyclopedias, including the scientists who specialize in compiling and researching dictionaries and encyclopedias (lexicographers); scientists in other disciplines; the community participating in the compilation of dictionaries and encyclopedias.
