Based on a survey dataset of 46,390 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from the Vietnam Enterprise Survey (VES) by the General Statistics Office in 2019, the article analyzes the factors affecting the financial performance of SMEs in the South Central region. The estimated results show that SMEs’ characteristics such as capital, labor, age of the enterprise, labor productivity, business field, form of ownership are important factors that affect their financial efficiency. Besides, the features of the macroenvironment, namely, the size of the intra-provincial market and the quality of local institutions have crucially contributed to the success of SMEs therein. The article also proposes some policy implications to improve the SMEs’ performance in the coming time.

The paper explores the compositions of Chinese female writers from 1949 to the present featuring female consciousness and female characters in real life. Based on the results of a self-administered field survey in 2020, the paper explores the reality of parents’ care in their child’s learning in rural families in Vu Thu district, Thai Binh province in relation to some personal characteristics of parents, children and families. Over the course of history, Phu Yen province has become the home of several ethnic groups. Thanks to the cultural blending throughout history, many valuable tangible and intangible cultural heritages are preserved in Phu Yen, which are a great resource for tourism development. Tangible cultural heritages herein are rich in forms and diverse in types, of which mainly cultural and historical relics. Such objective evidence vividly represents the imprints of the times and the spiritual values of the local community and the nation. Based on results of the Project “Research and evaluate the geological value and other heritages as a scientific basis to establish a UNESCO Global Geo-park in Phu Yen province” and other relevant documents, the paper outlines the typical historicalcultural relics in the area where the geo-park is expected to be established.
