In the context where religion is increasingly recognized as a social resource, examining actors capable of mobilizing and transforming religious resources for community life is of significant importance. This article analyzes the role of the Solidarity Association of Patriotic Khmer Theravada Buddhist Monks in mobilizing the religious resources in An Giang province, based on approaches from religious studies and the sociology of religion, combined with document analysis methods. The findings show that the Association is not merely a distinctive social organization of Khmer Theravada Buddhist monks and the Khmer Buddhist community, but also an important actor in connecting and mobilizing the resources of Khmer Theravada Buddhism, including human resources, cultural-moral resources, and social welfare resources. The study also identifies several limitations and emerging challenges related to further enhancing the Association’s role in the current context.
